PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETINGS

City of Charlotte Presubmittal Meetings for Non-Residential Projects

The Presubmittal Meeting Program provides an opportunity for customers to meet with City staff before submitting a Land Development application. These complimentary, advisory meetings help applicants identify potential issues early, understand applicable development requirements, and receive guidance on the development review process.

While Presubmittal Meetings are optional, they are strongly encouraged for new or complex development projects. Meeting with staff early in the process can improve the quality of an application, reduce review comments, and help streamline the formal review process. No fee is associated with these meetings.

If you have any questions, please contact Malaikah Gordon at Malaikah.Gordon@charlottenc.gov, or call at 980-417-0839.

What to Expect

During the virtual meeting, staff may provide guidance on:

  • Applicable development regulations and standards
  • Required review agencies
  • Site design considerations
  • Infrastructure requirements
  • Stormwater, transportation, utilities, and other development-related requirements
  • Application and submittal expectations
  • Development review procedures and timelines

Please note that Presubmittal Meetings are advisory only. Comments provided during the meeting are based on the information available at the time and do not constitute formal approval or guarantee the outcome of a future application.
