Additional Services
In addition to its four core services - garbage, recycling, yard, and bulky waste collection - the city offers additional services and resources for residents.
Multi-Family Services
The City of Charlotte provides garbage, recycling and bulky waste collection services to multi-family properties (apartments, condominiums, townhomes).

Disability Services
Service is the core of our operation, and we are passionate about ensuring residents have quality waste management resources. Residents who are physically unable to take their garbage and recyclables to the curb for collection may qualify for disability collection services (backyard collection). To see if you qualify for disability collection services and begin the process, please call 311 (704.336.7600).

Special Services
There are two specialized services offered under the Curb it! program - small business garbage collection and dead animal collection.

Hazardous Waste Disposal
Household toxic, corrosive, ignitable or reactive wastes are household hazardous wastes (HHW). Not disposed of properly, HHW can threaten human health and the environment.

Cart Repair and Replacement
Residents who need their carts repaired or replaced can receive that service free of charge. For cart repairs, replacement or other cart-related inquiries, please call 311 (704.336.7600) or email cartsadmin@charlottenc.gov with the following information:
- Resident name and address.
- Which cart is damaged (garbage and/or recycling).
- What part of the cart is damaged (wheel, lid, axle, barrel and/or bar).
To receive services, rollout carts must be curbside for service beginning the day the service request is made. Please allow at least two business days for cart repair or replacement. A cart can be repaired or replaced with or without collection materials inside. Residents receiving backdoor service do not have to place carts at the curb for repair or replacement.
