Charlotte Communication and Marketing

Charlotte Communication & Marketing (CCM) leads major communication efforts for the City of Charlotte and supports community outreach needs for several city departments. In addition to leading major communication and marketing campaigns and special events for the city, CCM serves as the primary contact for news media for general inquires and public record requests; manages the GOV Channel and meeting livestreams; oversees the city’s corporate brand and use of the City of Charlotte crown; leads City Council communication through the Office of Constituent Services; and manages the city’s primary digital properties including charlottenc.gov and City of Charlotte-branded social media accounts.

Media Inquiries, Resources and Record Requests

Media seeking public records should complete the public records request form. Information submitted as part of the public records request will be disclosed on the City of Charlotte Open Data Portal. This information includes the requestor name, organization, and details of the request.

Government Channel

The City of Charlotte GOV Channel features gavel-to-gavel coverage of all Charlotte City Council meetings. Watch live meetings, educational programming, and other news on Channel 16 on Spectrum, and 99 on U-verse or the GOV Channel Live livestream. Select meetings can also be viewed on the city’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

City of Charlotte Logo and Brand Standards

The crown logo is the official service mark of the City of Charlotte government. The City of Charlotte, official partners, and authorized licensees may use the City of Charlotte crown on merchandise or promotional/advertising material. Authorized parties may use the City of Charlotte crown only as detailed in official agreements with the city, and must adhere to standards and best practices detailed in the city’s Visual Style Guide. Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.

Crown Store

The City of Charlotte and 704 Shop offer apparel and accessories featuring the city’s iconic crown through the Crown Store. 704 Shop stocks standard crown merchandise at its web store and South End store at 1616 Camden Road.

The City of Charlotte uses several digital platforms to connect with the community. These accounts are intended to be a resource for the community to learn, engage and provide feedback. CCM manages the city’s primary accounts on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and Instagram.

Residents can also subscribe to receive city service updates and news on city policy and initiatives via text or email.

Jason Schneider joined the City of Charlotte in 2019 with more than 20 years of communications experience in media and public relations, content strategy and issues management. Prior to joining the city, Jason worked for Atrium Health where he oversaw clinical communications and content strategy, and in public affairs in Washington D.C. and Atlanta.
