Announcement

Feb. 16, 2024 - Final design is currently in process for this segment. After the final design is approved, the project will go out to bid. The project team continues to coordinate the design with Norfolk Southern Railroad and other local stakeholders.

Project Overview

This project will extend the Cross Charlotte Trail main alignment from Matheson Avenue to East Craighead Road, with additional connectors to the surrounding area. This segment is currently under study to determine a recommended alignment and trail dimensions, as well as recommended amenities.

Public Involvement

The following public meetings have taken place:

  • Oct. 1, 2019 at the Belmont Center
  • April 19, 2018 at the Belmont Center
