Sept. 15, 2026 - Underground utility work is underway along Brown Grier and Sandy Porter Roads as crews prepare for future roadway improvements. In the fall, crews will clear some trees within permanent utility easements. Overhead utility lines will be relocated afterward. You may see crews and equipment in the area, so please use extra caution. We appreciate your patience as this work progresses.
Conditions along Brown-Grier Road before roadway improvements
The Brown-Grier Complete Street Project will make improvements to Brown-Grier Road between Steele Creek Road and Whitehall Park Drive. Improvements will include additional travel lanes, medians, bicycle facilities, planting strips and other amenities.
A series of neighborhood meetings, public meetings and stakeholder interviews were held during the pre-planning phase for the Whitehall/Ayrsley CNIP. Public meetings for this specific project will take place during the planning phase. So far, the project team has hosted the following public meetings:
