On Monday, February 9th, the Charlotte City Council voted unanimously to approve an ordinance amendment exempting pollinator habitats and naturalistic landscapes from the city’s overgrown vegetation ordinance when registered with the city. North Carolina Wildlife Federation (NCWF), NCWF Charlotte Wildlife Stewards Chapter, and the Coalition To Protect Urban Nature drove the change.

What are naturalistic landscapes and pollinator habitats, why are they important, and how do you create them on your property? Join North Carolina Wildlife Federation and City of Charlotte staff to explore the ordinance change. We will walk you through the registration process, discuss effective ways to reduce your lawn, and provide tips and methods to help you succeed and avoid tall grass violations.
