Join Falyn Owens, wildlife biologist with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, to learn everything you need to know about your wild canine neighbors: how they ended up in your neighborhood, what they're doing there, and how you and your family can safely share space with these clever canines. We'll also cover what the law says about coyotes in North Carolina and what practical options are available if problems arise.

Join Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control as we celebrate America's 250th Birthday by completing 250 Acts of Freedom for Shelter Pets in a single day. An Act of Freedom can be as simple as adopting a pet, signing up to foster, taking a shelter dog on a Daycation or Staycation, making a monetary donation, donating items from our wish list, applying to volunteer, or helping spread the word about adoptable pets. Every act helps provide freedom, care, and second chances for the animals in our shelter and counts toward our goal of 250 acts.

Free Microchip Clinic

A free microchip clinic will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the first 100 pets, while supplies last. Microchips are one of the most effective ways to help lost pets find their way home. Pets must be on a leash or in a carrier and will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
