These grants are separate from our regular programs and may have different eligibility criteria, timelines, or focus areas. Charlotte Good Neighbor Grant

Honoring 250 Years of Community Resilience

The Charlotte Good Neighbor Grant supports activities that bring neighbors together, strengthen connections, and celebrate the community spirit that helps Charlotte neighborhoods thrive. 

As America celebrates 250 years, Charlotte honors that milestone by investing in the neighborhoods that have shaped our city for the better. This grant supports neighborhood-led efforts that foster belonging, encourage neighbors to get involved, and make communities stronger and more connected. 

Award Amounts

Individual Residents:

  • Up to $250
  • Any Charlotte resident organizing a community-focused activity may apply.

Neighborhood Organizations and HOAs:

  • Up to $500
  • Neighborhood associations, homeowner associations, and neighborhood coalitions serving a defined Charlotte community may apply.
Eligible Activities

Funding may support the following activities:

  • Block parties, cookouts, and neighborhood celebrations
  • Welcome events for new neighbors
  • Community cleanups and beautification projects
  • Food drives and service projects
  • Neighborhood meetings and resident forums
  • National Night Out events
  • Health and wellness activities
  • Community outreach materials and neighborhood communications
  • Organizational supplies for neighborhood associations and HOAs

How It Works

The Charlotte Good Neighbor Grant is a reimbursement-based opportunity.

Applicants submit a short application, receive approval, complete their activity, and then submit receipts and a brief activity summary within 30 days of the event.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with decisions issued within 10 business days. Reimbursement requests are processed upon receipt, and payment is typically issued within 30 business days in accordance with City payment processing timelines.

Funding is available through September 1, 2026, or until funds are exhausted.
