These grants are separate from our regular programs and may have different eligibility criteria, timelines, or focus areas. Little Free Pantry Grant – Up to $350 Available

The City of Charlotte is offering a Little Free Pantry Grant of up to $350 to help neighborhoods expand access to food and strengthen local support networks.

Applications open November 1 – December 1

What is a Little Free Pantry?

A Little Free Pantry is a small, weather-protected cabinet placed in a neighborhood where neighbors can give what they can and take what they need. Pantries are stocked with nonperishable food items and help reduce food insecurity by making food more accessible within the neighborhood.

Who Can Apply?

Residents, businesses, schools, neighborhoods, churches, and non-profits are all eligible. One grant per applicant. Project locations must be within the City of Charlotte's NMG eligible geography.

What’s Funded?

Receive up to $350 in reimbursement for materials and supplies to:

  • Convert an existing Little Free Library into a Little Free Pantry
  • Restock an existing Little Free Pantry
  • Install a new Little Free Pantry
