Cross Charlotte Trail Segment 07: East Craighead to North Tryon

Announcement

January 21, 2026 - The city's portion of construction on this segment is substantially complete and landscaping is underway. The project is now in the warranty phase. All work is guaranteed by the contractor for a minimum of one year. General Services will perform inspections at the 6 and 11-month marks. Gaps in the trail are currently under construction through private developer projects.

Project Overview

This project extends the Cross Charlotte Trail main alignment from East Craighead Road to North Tryon Street. Several areas of this segment are being built through private development projects required by the transit-oriented ordinance. Completion dates on these sections will vary based on project timelines.
