May 29, 2026 - This project is now complete. The city will host an Uncoupling Ceremony at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3 at 620 West 28th Street. Parking is available on both sides of Bancroft Street or in the AC Delco parking lot.
Firehouse #11, located at 620 West 28th Street, was originally built in the 1950s. The outdated building has been replaced with a modern, state-of-the-art facility that is better equipped to serve the surrounding community. The new firehouse is a 17,160-square-foot, two-story, four-bay facility, built with the latest advancements in safety, technology and environmental sustainability.
The project team will pursue Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for this facility.
To provide the surrounding community with a modern facility that accommodates a fire team, a rescue team and houses state-of-the-art equipment.
