South Charlotte Reinvestment Program

Program Overview

The South Charlotte Reinvestment Program is a bond-funded program that represents multiple strategic projects designed to reinvest in sidewalks and intersections that improve the transportation facilities in areas of need. The projects currently moving forward within this program include the following:

Program Goals

  • To improve pedestrian safety and connectivity
  • To reduce intersection congestion and delays
  • To provide projects that address immediate needs to the South Charlotte area as it continues to grow

Public Involvement

During the planning phase, the project team will hold public meetings to get community feedback and present options. The following public meetings are planned or have taken place:

Program Funding and Cost Information

Program funding of $5 million in voter-approved public improvement bonds in 2018 

Please note this is the funding amount and includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
