Firehouse 44 (River District) Groundbreaking

The City of Charlotte and Charlotte Fire will host a groundbreaking ceremony for Firehouse 44 in the River District. 

This new two-story, three-bay, approximately 14,000-square-foot firehouse will be the first mass timber firehouse in the Southeast and will meet Living Future's Zero Carbon certification for total project embodied carbon. This location meets the City of Charlotte Policy for Sustainable City Facilities and the Charlotte Fire Facilities Master Plan and will fully support the sophisticated and time-sensitive operations of Charlotte Fire.
