German-based BHS Corrugated Chooses Charlotte for Experience Center

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 13, 2025) — BHS Corrugated North America, a subsidiary of German-based BHS Corrugated Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH, has selected Charlotte for its new North American Experience Center, creating more than 50 jobs over the next several years. 

The 25,000-square-foot BHS Experience Center, located in Rushmore Five at Ballantyne, marks a milestone for BHS, a global leader in the corrugated industry, as it looks to expand its market share in North America.

Charlotte and the Experience Center will play a critical role as we continue to invest in our growth within the North America footprint.”

Jobs include executive leadership, service, training, sales, parts, information technology, human resources and finance.  

Key positions began transitioning to Charlotte in November 2024. According to Purrington, Charlotte’s talent pool has helped to build “a multifunctional and highly effective team.” Within the first few months, BHS has quickly welcomed more than 25 new team members. The company expects to complete the build-out of the space by this fall.  

This project was a collaborative effort between the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina.

BHS Experience Center

The space is designed to elevate the customer experience, with collaboration, hands-on learning and high-tech demonstrations, featuring: 

• The Service Command Post: A next-generation monitoring and support center that will leverage real-time data analytics and remote service capabilities to deliver proactive solutions for customers across North America, dramatically reducing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
• The Equipment Showroom: A fully immersive demonstration space where visitors can interact with BHS's state-of-the-art machinery in a hands-on environment, allowing customers to visualize transformative production possibilities through augmented reality and interactive simulations.
• The Training Academy: A comprehensive educational hub fostering the next generation of industry talent through advanced simulation technology and expert-led workshops that bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application.

Extensive Site Search

Charlotte’s selection follows an extensive and strategic multi-market site search led by commercial real estate firm Vestian's brokers CJ Walters, Greg Krzysko and Evan Holmes.
