Council Committees

The mayor appoints Charlotte City Council members to different committees to receive updates and provide feedback on projects and programs, and to make policy recommendations to the full City Council. The four City Council committees meet on the first Monday of every month. The committees are:

Budget, Governance & Intergovernmental Committee

The Committee reviews and recommends policies to fund community priorities, to optimize uses of public resources, and to collaborate with other government partners.

Housing, Safety & Community City Council Committee

December 01, 2025

The Housing, Safety & Community City Council Committee reviews and recommends policies to provide for safe and affordable housing, engage the community, increase safety and promote equity.
