Community Partnership Grants


The Community Partnership Grant is a funding opportunity offered by Housing & Neighborhood Services designed to support collaborative projects between community-based nonprofit organizations located in Charlotte and neighborhood-based organizations. This competitive grant awards up to $35,000 to support programs, services, or projects that provide a direct and measurable benefit to neighborhoods.
The Community Partnership Grant is intended for nonprofit organizations with the capacity to manage grant funds that are seeking to partner with neighborhood-based organizations in a supportive, non-financial role. Projects should strengthen neighborhood impact, build local capacity, and advance shared community goals.

Applicants must clearly describe how the proposed project advances one or more focus areas and benefits a neighborhood-based organization located in Geographic Area 1 or 2, as defined by the City of Charlotte’s Neighborhood Matching Grant guidelines. All project activities must take place within the City of Charlotte.
Eligibility Requirements:
This grant is intended for community-based nonprofit organizations that:
- Are a registered tax-exempt nonprofit organization in good standing, excluding religious organizations, political organizations, and private foundations
- Have been operating for at least two (2) years
- Have experience delivering community-based programs and services that benefit people within Charlotte city limits
- Have the organizational and financial capacity to implement the proposed project, manage partnerships, and comply with reimbursement and reporting requirements, including the ability to cover project costs prior to reimbursement
Neighborhood-based organizations that also hold nonprofit status are encouraged to apply to the City’s Community Microgrant or Neighborhood Matching Grant programs, which are specifically designed to support neighborhood-led initiatives.

How to Submit an LOI:
To submit an LOI, applicants must create an online account through the City’s grant portal. Select “Create New Account” to begin. Returning applicants should contact the grants office for login assistance. Only one individual may manage the application within the system, and all grant-related communications will be sent to the email address associated with the application account.
