Solid Waste Services is operating on its regular schedule the week of Veterans Day. Be sure that carts are at the curb no later than 6 a.m. on collection day. It is a green recycling collection week.
The Westmere Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street and structure flooding throughout the neighborhood. Located within a drainage area of approximately 245 acres, the project will replace aging infrastructure and provide adequate drainage system capacity. The project area is bordered by First Street to the north, Morehead Street to the south, Cedar Street to the east and I-77 to the west.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and engineering consultant ESP Associates, Inc. continue with the design phase.
The project will replace and/or rehabilitate aging infrastructure and provide adequate drainage system capacity. The project team is continuing to develop detailed drawings for the proposed improvements.
