Overview

The Summerlin Place Storm Drainage Improvement Project will replace aging infrastructure. Located within a drainage area of approximately 38 acres, the project will provide adequate drainage system capacity. The Summerlin Place Storm Drainage Improvement Project is bordered by Wessynton Drive to the south, Summerlin Place to the east and Brynwood Drive to the west.

Project Updates

August 2025

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and engineering consultant ESP Associates, Inc. have acquired all easements needed for construction and the project’s design phase is complete. The bid phase has started and the final design plans will be circulated to qualified contractors for a competitive bidding process. Once City Council awards the contract, construction will be scheduled.

Road closures are planned for portions of Summerlin Place, Wessynton Drive and Brynwood Drive during the project. A mailer will be sent in advance with the anticipated road closure date and length.
