Overview

The Shamrock Gardens Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street and structure flooding throughout the neighborhood. Located within a drainage area of approximately 75 acres, the project will replace and/or rehabilitate aging infrastructure and provide adequate drainage system capacity. The project area is bordered by Purser Drive to the north, Shamrock Drive to the south, Briar Creek to the east and Eastway Drive to the west.

Project Updates

June 2026

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services will begin construction soon. On April 14, 2026, City Council awarded the construction contract to Zoladz Construction Company, Inc. Construction is scheduled to start in mid-2026 and is anticipated to take 24 months.

Before construction begins, these activities may be underway: locating, flagging, marking and relocating utilities.

During the project a road closure is planned for a portion of Finchley Drive. A mailer will be sent in advance with the anticipated road closure date and length.
