Overview

The Queens Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street and structure flooding throughout the neighborhood. Located within a drainage area of approximately 40 acres, the project will replace aging infrastructure and provide adequate system capacity. The project area is bordered by East 4th Street to the north, Baxter Street to the south, Caswell Road to the east and Baldwin Avenue to the west.

Project Updates

September 2025

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and engineering consultant Woolpert, Inc. continue with the design phase. The project team is developing detailed drawings for the proposed improvements.

Real estate acquisition has started. During this time, the project team works with property owners to acquire temporary or permanent easements.
