Project Updates

February 2026

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services will begin construction soon. On February 9, City Council awarded the construction contract to Hux Contracting. Construction is scheduled to start mid-2026 and is anticipated to take 18 months.

Before construction begins, these activities may be underway: locating, flagging, marking and relocating utilities.

During the project, a road closure is planned for a portion of Morgan Street between Williamson Street and Hoskins Road. A mailer will be sent in advance with the anticipated road closure date and length.
