Project Updates

April 2023

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and engineering consultant HDR continue with the design phase. Proposed storm drainage improvements were submitted to Norfolk Southern Railroad for approval, but requested design changes could not be accommodated. The project team is now moving forward to develop detailed drawings for proposed improvements that will no longer require railroad approval.

Storm Water Services will be moving forward with storm drainage improvements near 6th and Church Streets. Design plans are being finalized and the bid phase will begin soon. During this phase, the final plans will be circulated to qualified contractors for a competitive bidding process.
