April 25, 2022 - This project is not funded past the design phase and has been put on hold indefinitely. It is anticipated that the project will be completed in partnership with a private developer.
THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN PLACED ON HOLD
This project will extend Park South Drive as a two-lane street from Fairview Road to a new roundabout at Carnegie Boulevard and will extend the existing eastbound left-turn lane on Fairview Road. It is consistent with two recent rezoning approvals, which will build a portion of this alignment and the roundabout.
To enhance the street network in the area
To reduce delays at other signalized intersections along Fairview Road
To create an additional street connection to help support the continued emergence of Southpark as a vibrant, mixed-use activity corridor
To provide easier access to existing commercial and new multifamily mixed-use developments in the area
To increase access to existing commercial and planned developments
