Feb. 20, 2026 - The city has received four bids from contractors. By state law, the contract is awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Construction is expected to start later this year and be complete by the end of 2027.
Part of the Mitigate Congestion Program
This project includes adding a left-turn lane from Sharon Road at Eastburn Road and making roadway modifications along Sharon Road that will reduce the sharpness of the existing curves and remove superelevation (the banking or tilting of the roadway) that has contributed to higher speeds along that stretch.
The project is also making pedestrian improvements by providing a wider sidewalk and planting strip and adding accessible curb ramps at Eastburn Road and Rutherford Drive.
