May 7, 2026 - The project team will host its first public meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Independence Regional Library, located at 600 Conference Drive. Drop in any time between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. to learn more about the project and share your feedback. For language access or ADA accommodations, please reach out to Brian Bernard, whose contact information is on this page.
This project will create a 3,300-foot-long cycle track along Conference Drive between City View Drive and Monroe Road. It will cross over Independence Boulevard and Peacekeepers Way and will connect to the existing curb ramp updates at Monroe Road and Conference Drive. The ramp replacements tie in to the Monroe Road Streetscape project.
The project team will host two public engagements to assist in building shared ownership of the cycle track among those who live, work and travel along the corridor. These events will give residents an opportunity to share their ideas on additional areas where the bike network can improve and/or expand.
