The Planning, Design & Development Department uses numerous spatial analysis tools to assist and manage planning efforts. Many of these tools are accessible on the internet, allowing the public a greater opportunity to participate in community planning.

Data for building permits, land development projects, rezonings and numerous other services are available through the City of Charlotte’s Open Data Portal and Mecklenburg County’s Open Mapping Portal.
