Storm Drain Marking Competition - World Pollution Prevention!

Details: Did you know December 2^nd, 2026, is World Pollution Prevention Day? We're celebrating all week with a Storm Drain Marking Competition from December 2nd to December 9th! Groups from across Mecklenburg County can compete to help us reach our goal of marking every storm drain in the County!

Storm Drain Marking involves walking and/or driving around neighborhood streets and placing small markers on storm drains. The markers educate others that our storm drains lead directly to our streams! For each storm drain marked, teams earn one point, and prizes go to the top teams in each age division (Under 18 and over 18). Teams can include up to four people, and every member of a winning team will receive an awesome prize.
