Steps for Shelter Pets 2026

Join us for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control's second annual Steps for Shelter Pets fundraiser to support the animals in their care.
This year, we're walking 10,800 laps -- one for each animal that came into the shelter in 2025. Our goal is to raise $5 per lap. That's $54,000 that will support essential, supplementary programs, including enrichment, supplies and specialized medical care that goes beyond routine shelter operations and help improve quality of life for animals while they wait for adoption.
