Power Down the Crown Information Session

Power Down the Crown Information Session Thursday, Dec. 11, 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Power Down the Crown is a voluntary building energy performance benchmarking program to help building owners track and reduce energy usage. The program provides organizations with opportunities to share and learn sustainability best practices, obtain technical support for tracking building energy data, and receive recognition from the City of Charlotte for increasing the efficiency of buildings and contributing to a zero-carbon future.

This program was developed as part of the city’s Strategic Energy Action Plan (SEAP), recently updated to the SEAP+. Building energy performance benchmarking is a best practice for energy efficiency that measures a building’s energy use, tracks its performance over time, and compares its performance to similar buildings.

Our upcoming information session Thursday, Dec. 11, from 2:30–3:30 p.m. will provide a clear overview of how the program works, how to benchmark your energy use, and the ways your participation can reduce costs while expanding your visibility as a sustainability leader. The session will be in room 280 of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center.

Fourteen partners have already joined us on this journey, and we hope you will be the next.
