Mulching & Watering Workshop

Spring is on its way! And that means it's time to get outside and turn our attention to our trees.

Join us on Saturday, March 7 to learn about proper mulching and watering. Around our community, trees are mulched in different ways: high around the trunk, in a thin layer, a high berm or not at all. We will demonstrate proper mulch application and discuss how and why mulching benefits your tree.

Also, if you have ever wondered how to water, how much to water and when to water, then join the City Arborist Group for a fun-filled tree-mulching and watering demonstration. You'll learn all about the best mulching and watering techniques to ensure a healthy, happy tree for years to come. Attendees will receive a free watering bucket as part of the city's Buckets for Better Trees campaign.

Bringing the kids with you? We'll have plenty of creative, educational and entertaining activities for them, too!

Please wear sturdy, comfortable shoes and bring gloves, sunscreen and a hat. Bottled water and snacks will be provided.

Important Parking Information

We recommend using Google Maps for directions. Currently, Apple Maps directs visitors to the gated, locked employee entrance off Jay Street. If you're taken there, please get on Tuckaseegee Road and enter the public entrance from there. Staff is actively working with Apple to resolve this issue.
