Community TechDay
Next date: Thursday, April 23, 2026 | 10:00 AM
to 03:00 PM
Charlotte Community TechDay is where technology moves off the screen and into real life. Hosted by the City of Charlotte and Pathway Community Foundation, this one-day experience transforms Johnson C. Smith University’s Innovation Center into an interactive hub of discovery — featuring live demos, drones, STEM workshops, VR, smart city exhibits, and startup-style presentations.
Students, residents, entrepreneurs and public leaders come together to explore how technology is shaping everyday life and the future of our communities.
The centerpiece of the day is the HBCU Smart Cities Showcase where student teams representing nine HBCUs present prototype solutions developed with the City of Charlotte and Henry County, Georgia, after three months of hands-on collaboration. Teams will compete live for $10,000 in prizes as they pitch real ideas designed to solve real civic challenges.
If you want to experience the future of cities before it arrives, this is where you see it first. Register today.
If you want a chance to be an exhibitor at the event, sign up by April 9.
