Coffee and Conversations

Join the Urban Design Center for coffee and a great discussion centered on urban design and opportunities to improve the built environment. All are welcome. Start your workday with a discussion on the future of suburban shopping malls featuring free espresso drinks, treats, and a lively Q+A.

During the event, Ellen Dunham-Jones, an award-winning urban designer, author, and professor of urban design at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This conversation will center around the suburban mall and highlight her research, case studies and strategies that can bring dead malls back to life.

Local coffee purveyor Cool Idiot Coffee will provide the caffeine needed to jumpstart the day. Grab a cup and join an exciting presentation and discussion hosted at the Charlotte Urban Design Center.

Parking

The Urban Design Center is located at 1507 Camden Rd. in the heart of South End. Parking options at the Urban Design Center are limited. We encourage you to walk, bike, or take the light rail as we are steps away from the Bland Street Light Rail Station. On-street/free parking is available in limited areas of South End. Please check out the parking map for details.
