No Swim Advisory Issued

Water samples that were collected on April 21, 2026, came back with high bacteria counts so the advisory area has been extended. Samples will continue to be collected until the results come back at the action levels required to lift the swim advisory.

April 21, 2026

A No Swim Advisory has been issued for a cove on Lake Wylie near Old Oleander Drive due to a sewer overflow that is being repaired. Residents and pets should avoid this area until further notice. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services staff are taking water quality samples to test for bacteria. The advisory will be lifted when the water is safe for recreation.
