Learn2Earn Grant Applications Are Open for Non-profit Organizations

The City of Charlotte’s Learn2Earn program is awarding $1.9 million in grants to non-profit organizations that are providing underserved communities with digital literacy, skills, technology and support for long-term economic mobility. The grants will be administered through FORWARD.

This initiative will increase digital access and inclusion for at least 1,000 Charlotte residents by:

  • Providing structured digital literacy training that enables individuals to navigate technology for employment, education and daily life.
  • Distributing digital devices to support continued learning and access to online resources.
  • Facilitating connections to workforce development, small business growth and housing stability programs to create pathways to economic opportunity.

Requirements for Applicants:

  • Must be a tax-exempt §501(c)(3) organization with at least three years of demonstrated experience in digital inclusion or workforce development. 
  • Must have the capacity to serve distressed communities in Charlotte and will be responsible for delivering the program’s three core service components:
    • Digital literacy training – Provide 14 to 16 hours of structured digital literacy instruction for each participant.
    • Device distribution – Distribute new digital devices, such as laptops or tablets, to participants after successful completion of training and assessments.
    • Economic opportunity pathways – Connect participants to programs and resources that support career advancement, entrepreneurship, and housing stability.
