Applications are being accepted for the 2026 Creative Pool, a program that connects local professional creatives with opportunities to work on city projects throughout the year.

From Jan. 29 through March 13 at 5 p.m., creatives can apply to join the City of Charlotte’s Creative Pool. The Creative Pool includes a wide range of professionals who design, create and deliver original work. This program serves as a resource and database that links artists and designers with projects across Charlotte. Acceptance into the pool does not guarantee a commission, but members will have access to opportunities such as:

  • Public art commissions through city capital projects and programs
  • Collaborations with Placemaking Grant recipients
  • Photography for community and city events
  • Creative engagement services for planning projects
  • Connections with community members and business leaders seeking creative expertise

Creative disciplines accepted include murals, sculpture, furniture design, performance, photography, music, writing, lighting, landscaping, fabrication, painting, drawing, ceramics, graphic design, videography, user experience and interface design, social media content creation and more.

Portfolio and Brand Workshop for Professional Creatives

Interested applicants are invited to attend Your Point of View, a portfolio and brand workshop for professional creatives hosted by the Urban Design Center on March 5 at its South End Studio at 1507 Camden Road. This in-person session will provide guidance on digital portfolio standards and best practices from experienced professionals. Participants will have the chance to network, receive professional development advice and take part in portfolio reviews across multiple creative fields.
