Application Deadline

Applications must be submitted on or before 11:59 p.m. on the posted closing date.

For example, if a job posting closes on March 15, applications must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on March 14. Applications cannot be accepted after the deadline. Resumes or inquiries submitted after a job has closed will not be considered.

How do I apply for jobs in Workday, and do I need to create a new account?

To apply for City of Charlotte jobs, you will need to create a new Workday account. This account is unique to the City and is used exclusively to access our career site. Once logged in, you can search and apply for positions, track your application status, and manage your candidate profile. What should I do if my Workday account is locked?

Workday automatically locks an account after multiple unsuccessful login attempts. If your account is locked, please wait 24 hours for it to automatically unlock before trying again. To avoid future lockouts, use the “Forgot Password” option if you are unsure of your login credentials.

I missed the deadline to apply for a position. How can I apply if the posting is closed?

If the application deadline for the position has passed, we are unable to accept late submissions. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we encourage you to keep an eye on our future job postings. Applications must be submitted before 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on the posted closing date. This means the last day to apply is the day before the listed closing date.

How can I reapply to a job? The system is not allowing me to reapply.

Candidates cannot submit multiple applications for the same job posting. Some roles may allow reapplication, but this will vary by job posting.

How can I update my contact information after I have submitted my application?

You can update your contact information on your profile, and it will automatically update on all your submitted applications.

How can I confirm my application was submitted and track its status in Workday?

After submitting your application, you can confirm its submission and track its status by logging into Workday and navigating to the "My Applications" section. Here, you’ll find a list of all your applications along with their current statuses.

How can I submit my updated resume after I submit my application?

Once you submit your application, you will not be able to make any changes. Make sure your resume is final before submitting.

I received a rejection email and would like to know why I was not selected for the position if I meet the qualifications.
