The City of Charlotte uses Workday to support a consistent and efficient hiring process. The platform simplifies applying for jobs by allowing candidates to submit applications, track their status, and receive updates in one centralized system.
To apply for City of Charlotte jobs, you will need to create a new Workday account. This account is unique to the City and is used exclusively to access our career site. Once logged in, you can search and apply for positions, track your application status, and manage your candidate profile. For step-by-step instructions, refer to the Workday Guide for External Candidates, which covers account setup, job alerts, applying for positions, and managing applications.
Workday automatically locks an account after multiple unsuccessful login attempts. If your account is locked, please wait 24 hours for it to automatically unlock before trying again. To avoid future lockouts, use the “Forgot Password” option if you are unsure of your login credentials.
If the application deadline for the position has passed, we are unable to accept late submissions. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we encourage you to keep an eye on our future job postings. Applications must be submitted before 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on the posted closing date. This means the last day to apply is the day before the listed closing date.
Candidates cannot submit multiple applications for the same job posting. Some roles may allow reapplication, but this will vary by job posting.
You can update your contact information on your profile, and it will automatically update on all your submitted applications.
After submitting your application, you can confirm its submission and track its status by logging into Workday and navigating to the "My Applications" section. Here, you’ll find a list of all your applications along with their current statuses.
Once you submit your application, you will not be able to make any changes. Make sure your resume is final before submitting.
Our job market is very competitive, and we receive numerous applications. Although we can't provide specific feedback on each one, we acknowledge and value the effort you put into your application.
