Martin Luther King Jr. Day is one of only two federally recognized days of service, and we take that task to heart by encouraging volunteering in our communities to honor Dr. King’s legacy. On Jan. 20, join your neighbors and other like-minded volunteers for any of the four different cleanups happening along the Beatties Ford Road and Freedom Drive corridors.
The simultaneous service events are being put on by Keep Charlotte Beautiful (KCB); Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation; the JCSU 100 Club; and the city’s GreenPrints initiative through the Corridors of Opportunity program.
All of the cleanups are from 10 a.m. to noon on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. They are free to attend, but please register in advance so organizers can prepare sufficient supplies.

Can’t attend one of these events? Get involved with KCB programs! Residents can request their own neighborhood cleanups, adopt a city street, borrow cleanup supplies, apply for beautification grants and more.
KCB was one of the nation's first Keep America Beautiful affiliates and has been inspiring and educating people to improve and beautify their communities for 50 years.
