Overview

The Summerlin Place Storm Drainage Improvement Project, located within a drainage area of approximately 38 acres, will replace aging infrastructure and provide adequate drainage system capacity. The project is bordered by Wessynton Drive to the south, Summerlin Place to the east and Brynwood Drive to the west.

Project Updates

January 2026

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services will begin construction soon. On November 10, 2025, City Council awarded the construction contract to Hux Contracting LLC. Construction is expected to start in February 2026 and is anticipated to take six months.

During the next few weeks, these activities may be underway: locating, flagging, marking and relocating utilities.
