Overview

The Farmer Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street flooding throughout the neighborhood. Located within a drainage area of approximately 50 acres, the project will replace aging infrastructure and provide adequate drainage system capacity. The project area is bordered by West Boulevard to the north, Caronia Street to the south, Clanton Road to the east and Rose Avenue to the west.

Project Updates

August 2025

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services will begin construction soon. On June 9, 2025, City Council awarded the construction contract to United of the Carolinas, Inc. Construction is scheduled to start in late August and is anticipated to take 18 months.

During the next few weeks, these activities may be underway: locating, flagging, marking and relocating utilities.
