Firehouse #11 Replacement

Aug. 27, 2025 - Construction is approximately 45% complete and is expected to be substantially complete in April of 2026. Installation of concrete masonry walls, seismic clips in the apparatus bay, metal stud framing and supports for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems has begun. Brick veneer work continues. The electrical transformer is expected to be delivered by the end of August 2025.

Project Overview

Firehouse #11, located at 620 West 28th Street, was originally built in the 1950s. The outdated building will be replaced with a modern, state-of-the-art facility that is better equipped to serve the surrounding community.

A re-zoning of the site (#RZP-2022-014) is needed to accommodate the new, larger facility.

Project Goals

To provide the surrounding community with a modern facility that accommodates a fire team, a rescue team and houses state-of-the-art equipment.

Public Involvement

The project team hosted a public meeting on August 2, 2022 to share information about the project and explain the next steps. Watch the recording on YouTube.
