Holiday Collection Schedule
We collect garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulky waste on all holidays except for the following listed below. During observed holiday weeks, all collection services will operate on a one-day delay with Friday customers receiving service on Saturday.

Solid Waste Services - SMS Communication Terms and Conditions
By enrolling in the Solid Waste Services (SWS) SMS text message program, you agree to receive text messages from City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services regarding:
- Service impacts and updates (e.g., delays, weather-related changes, holiday schedules).
- Educational content related to waste management and recycling practices.
- Voluntary surveys and opportunities to provide feedback.
- Other SWS-related information designed to support quality, efficient and effective service delivery.
Message Frequency:
SWS will send no more than four (4) educational content-related text messages per month. Other types of messages may vary based on frequency, especially for service impacts and updates, voluntary surveys, and other SWS-related information.
Privacy and Use:
Your contact information will not be shared with or sold to third-party vendors. No messages will be sent on behalf of external entities.
Opt-Out:
You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, contact Solid Waste Services at curbit@charlottenc.gov.
Message and Data Rates:
Standard message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.

Experienced a Missed Collection?
Solid Waste Services staff are committed to providing collection services (garbage, yard waste, recycling, and scheduled bulky items) on your assigned day and week of collection. While the exact time of service may vary each week, our aim is to consistently deliver collection on your assigned day and week, ensuring a reliable waste management system for our community.
If you believe your garbage, yard waste, recyclables, or scheduled bulky items were not collected on your assigned day, or you experience and issue with your service, remember that your prompt action is crucial. Call CharMeck 311 (704.336.7600) and report any collection issue, including misses, within 48 hours of the issue. Your timely reporting will ensure a timely resolution, making you an active part of the solution.
