Overview

The Laurel Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street flooding in the area. Located within a drainage area of approximately 52 acres, the project will replace and/or rehabilitate aging infrastructure and provide adequate drainage system capacity. The project area is bordered by Laurel Avenue to the north, Dotger Avenue to the south, Randolph Road to the east and Hempstead Place to the west.

Project Updates

March 2025

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and engineering consultant Armstrong Glen continue with the design phase. The project team is developing detailed drawings for the proposed improvements.

The project team is coordinating with private utility companies to identify potential conflicts, relocation needs and begin the easement acquisition process.
