Overview

The Thermal Road Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street and structure flooding throughout the neighborhood. Located within a drainage area of approximately 695 acres, the project will replace aging infrastructure and provide adequate system capacity. The project area is located along Thermal Road between Pineburr Road to the east and Charter Place to the west.

Project Updates

January 2025

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and engineering consultant ESP Associates have acquired all easements needed for construction and the project’s design phase is complete.

The bid phase has started and the final design plans will be circulated to qualified contractors for a competitive bidding process. Once City Council awards the contract, construction will be scheduled.
