Project Overview

This project will build bike facilities in several different locations throughout the Elizabeth neighborhood to create safer conditions and improve ease of travel for cyclists and pedestrians, including approximately 2.1 miles of sharrows, modernization of two existing rectangular rapid flashing beacons, replacement of 14 wheelchair ramps, a new pedestrian crossing at Pecan Avene and Shenandoah Avenue, implementation of new bike detection cameras, a new full traffic signal at Bascom Street and 7th Street, and a curb extension located at the intersection of Pecan Avenue and 8th Street.

This project will be split into two phases

• Phase 1 includes the bike route pavement markings, wayfinding signs, rapid rectangular flashing beacon upgrades and new concrete wheelchair ramp replacements.

• Phase 2 includes the full traffic signal located at the intersection of 7th Street and Bascom/Cameron.

Phase 2 will be completed shortly after Phase 1.

Project Goals

• To connect the Elizabeth neighborhood to multiple established bike routes 
• To provide facilities to increase safety and ease of travel for cyclists and pedestrians
