Navigating City Services: Mobility Plan & Strategic Investment Areas

Next date: Wednesday, June 25, 2025 | 06:00 PM to 07:30 PM

Mobility refers to the ability for people to move safely and efficiently throughout the city, whether by walking, biking, riding transit, or driving, and it plays a vital role in shaping access to jobs, education, healthcare, housing, leisure, and other essential services and opportunities for daily life.

This session will provide an overview of the City’s Strategic Mobility Plan and the new Strategic Investment Areas (SIA) Pilot Program. The goal of the Strategic Mobility Plan is to provide safe, connected, and equitable mobility. The SIA Pilot Program will deliver targeted, high-impact mobility projects that enhance safety, equity, and accessibility. The program takes a fresh approach to transportation improvements by breaking larger projects into smaller, more manageable ones to complete projects faster and more efficiently, resulting in residents seeing improvements sooner rather than later.

Join us for this session to learn:
  • How the City’s Strategic Mobility Plan aligns our mobility strategy with the 2040 Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan
  • How mobility criteria (safety, congestion, bicycle, transit, etc.) helped identify mobility needs and opportunities across the city
  • Where the Strategic Investment Areas are located, and what are some of the potential infrastructure projects

This session will be held via Zoom. Register in advance, and we will send you the link to join prior to the session.
