The City of Charlotte is accepting applications to fill the vacant District 6 City Council seat.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a registered voter in Mecklenburg County.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be a registered Republican.
- Reside in Charlotte's District 6.
The application is now open and will close on Tuesday, May 13, at 5 p.m. Late applications will not be accepted. All questions on the application must be completed in full to be considered.

The public forum on May 16 will allow applicants to briefly introduce themselves and share their interest in serving on the City Council. It is open to the public and will be streamed live on the GOV Channel.
Applicants who wish to participate must register in advance using the speaker sign-up form.
Once sworn in, the appointee will begin serving immediately, completing the remainder of the term until the candidate elected in the November 2025 election for the 2025-2027 term assumes office.
