Police-Community Relations Awards
Established in 1979, this awards program promotes and expresses the community's appreciation to police officers who have made an outstanding contribution to the improvement of police-community relations. Each year, officers are recognized for their advanced creative solutions to neighborhood problems, demonstrating extraordinary efforts around crime prevention, and building positive relationships with individual residents and neighborhood groups.
Nominations are open for the 44th annual Police-Community Relations Awards, which is sponsored by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee (CRC). Nominations of an officer or team may be submitted using the Police Nomination online form or by mail. Mailed nominations should be addressed to:

Mailed nominations should include.
- The name, phone number and email address of the person making the nomination.
- he names of the officer or officers being nominated.
- The district where the officers work.
The submission deadline is April 5, 2024. Nominations will be reviewed by a group made up of members of the CRC. Officers selected will be honored at an awards ceremony on May 16, 2024.
