Overview

The Lorna/Laburnum Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street and structure flooding throughout the neighborhood. Located within a drainage area of approximately 50 acres, the project will replace and/or rehabilitate aging infrastructure and provide adequate drainage system capacity. The project area is bordered by Bascom Street to the north, Briar Creek to the south, Bay Street and Laburnum Avenue to the east and Kingsbury Drive to the west.

August 2024

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and engineering consultant The Isaacs Group have completed the study of the existing storm drainage system in the Lorna/Laburnum project area. Alternative solutions are now being developed. 

A public meeting will be held once the project team is ready to present a recommended solution to property owners.
