February 18, 2026 - The bid phase is underway. During this phase, a competitive bidding process is held to select a qualified contractor to construct the project. By state law, the lowest responsive, responsible bidder is selected, and Charlotte City Council is asked to award the contract. Construction is expected to start by the end of December 2026.

This project will add a new traffic signal at the intersection of Arrowood Road and Whitehall Commons Center Drive. The northbound left turn lane will be offset to improve visibility, Whitehall Commons Center Drive will be widened near the intersection, and crosswalks and curb ramps will be added on every approach.
